Render of the bearingless inertia car with orange axle blocks and a flywheel

We built a small car with no bearings and raced it on 26 June 2025. It travelled 945 cm and finished first among 11 teams.

What

I did

01

Modelled the parts in SolidWorks.

02

Printed the blue PLA brackets on a Soon FDM printer.

03

Machined 5A02 aluminium axles that turn on four M10 pivot bolts.

04

Fitted POM wheels.

05

Cut a 150 by 110 mm acrylic plate on a CNC mill from a Mastercam program.

06

Checked the cutting data of program O0100 in the report and modelled the rotating mass.

+ Honest result

What the report checks

The report checks the cutting data of program O0100 and models the rotating mass of the car, with an equivalent mass of 43.0 g.
