Machine Learning-Based Predictive Maintenance for Mechanical Systems: Tool Wear and Bearing Fault Detection Using Vibration and Acoustic Emission Signals

Md Zakir Hossen (first author), M Abidur Rahman Sakib (second author), Md Ikbal Hasan.

EJASET, volume 4, issue 5. Published 16 October 2026.

We built a deep learning framework that fuses vibration and acoustic emission signals. One network finds bearing faults and predicts tool wear. It reaches 99.28% fault accuracy and a flank wear error of 5.14 µm, with an R squared of 0.982. We tested it on the PHM 2010 milling data and the Paderborn bearing data.

Revolutionary Cryogenic Energy Storage for Ultra-Efficient Power and Smart Grids

Md Shayokh Mondol (corresponding author), Mohiuddin Hassan Badhon, Md. Zakir Hossen, M Abidur Rahman Sakib (fourth author), Negla Sadia Jahan.

North American Academic Research, volume 8, issue 10, pages 1 to 13. Received 1 October 2025, accepted 4 October 2025, published 7 October 2025.

The study looks at cryogenic energy storage for smart grids. It combines Peng-Robinson thermodynamic modelling, Monte Carlo analysis and multi-objective optimisation, with model predictive control and reinforcement learning for dispatch. It reports that cryogenic storage beats lithium-ion and hydrogen storage on cost, efficiency, scalability, net present value and internal rate of return.

Where

I am going

I want a European master's that teaches me to predict failure in the vehicles that move people. The wheel and brake disc on this page stand for that goal.
